Do you want to know how you can succeed in your business? Do you want to learn why you are not progressing in your business? Do you want to be successful in your business?
I had trouble with my first online business. I struggled and I was not successful. I realized I was making a lot of things that I should not be doing. After realizing my mistakes, I made adjustments and, as a result, I have successfully built my online businesses today.
In this article, you will discover the mistakes of most people who are starting in their online businesses. All of them are proven to make you forever fail in your business. If you are serious about making your business a success, continue reading.
1. You are Making a Lot of Excuses
You wanted to do it, but…
How often do you make excuses in a day?
When something is really valuable to you, you never make excuses. When you badly want to achieve a goal, you never make excuses. Period.
You never let a circumstance dictate what you want to achieve in your business. You never let it block you from moving forward. If you do, you are simply making an excuse and you’re not committed to your business.
If you make a lot of excuses, the truth is, you are never serious about your business.
2. You don’t invest in yourself
You want to grow your business, but you want everything for free. That will never work.
If you want to grow yourself more, if you want to hone your craft, if you want to achieve your goal, grow yourself by investing in workshops, seminars and other programs that will help you become better as a person.
I love freebies and I know you do, too, but they will limit your growth. Invest in yourself, invest in your education and invest in your growth.
3. You don’t invest in your tools.
Imagine a soldier going to a battle bringing nothing but a banana. The chances, of that soldier getting killed, is very high (you may think hiding will make him survive, but he needs tools for his physiological needs).
Without the right tools, your business will never grow. You don’t need to invest in overpriced tools just to boast them to your friends. You simply buy the right tools for your business.
Investing in the right tools will make you do things faster for your business.
4. You don’t spend more than enough time
How long do you spend on achieving your goal?
If you have a day job now and you want to build a business, how often do you spend your time in building your business? Do you do it part-time or in your spare time?
Dedicate time to your goal. Set a portion of your day on it and do more. Don’t build your business in your spare time because surely, you will fail.
5. You don’t study it
If you want your goal to happen on its own, it will take you a gazillion of your lifetime. It will never happen.
You are in your profession right now because once upon a time, you were a student. You studied the basics of your profession. You studied how to count, to read and to write. Even when you were hired, you studied how your profession works.
In building your business, you study it.
6. You rely on, “Come What May”
When your business is built upon Come What May, it will never become successful.
It’s true that you will never be certain of the outcome of your business, but you are certain about how you want it to grow.
When something happens that you don’t like, adjust. When you fail, you adjust.
7. You let one rejection become your everything
Do you know Col. Sanders? If you don’t go to your nearest KFC and when you order a spicy fried chicken, take a glimpse at the white-bearded old man.
Before Col. Sanders became successful, he was rejected 1009 times. A YES on his 1010th attempt made him a lot of money. Because of his persistence, those rejections are now history. Presently, the recipe of Col. Sanders is successfully sold globally.
One reject in your business means nothing. All you need to do is go on to the next.
8. You don’t mind your own business
Do you mind your own business?
If something has something to do with your business, it’s worthy of your attention. If it has nothing to do with your business, it’s never worth your attention.
Focus on your own business, never be present in someone’s business if you have no business with them.
9. You simply give up
Building your business is a series of down, down, down, down, down and up then down, down, down and down.
You will fail many times and you will never succeed if you give up. Giving up is a sure formula for failure. Failing is a temporary pain but giving up is forever.
10. You are too afraid to get started
How can a business grow without you getting started? Are you out of your mind?!
Be courageous to start your business. Never get distracted by your friends, the news or anything that tells you that you won’t be successful in your business. Stand still and stand strong. You have that courage if you really want your business to grow.
I truly believe that you can succeed in your business by avoiding these mistakes. Stay committed to your business and success is on your way.
